Telemedicine is a health care delivery method that supplies high-speed telecommunication systems, computer technology, and specialized medical cameras to examine, diagnose, treat, and educate patients at a distance. For example, through a telemedicine encounter, a patient in the Washington County area may seek medical treatment from a provider or specialist in Savannah, Augusta, or Atlanta without having to leave the county.
