If you have heart disease or at risk for heart disease your physician may recommend this program to you. The program helps patients recovering from cardiac surgery, heart attack, or any cardiac event. The Cardiac Rehabilitation staff, with assistance from your physician, develops an education and exercise program customized to meet your needs. Throughout the program, the staff communicates your progress to your physician. A member of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Staff monitors your heart rhythm, heart rate and blood pressure while guiding you through an exercise routine. The Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program at Washington County Regional Medical Center is specially designed for people who suffer from chronic respiratory diseases such as chronic bronchitis, COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), or emphysema and those who are limited by their shortness of breath.
Our program includes exercise classes and education to help our patients achieve the highest level of independence and improve their sense of well-being. Our staff monitors your oxygen level, blood pressure and heart rate while guiding you through an exercise routine.
