Position Summary
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) assists in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care during the assigned shift. Patients may include individuals across multiple age groups and diverse backgrounds.
The LPN works collaboratively with physicians, nursing staff, and other departments to maintain safe and effective patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care and support nursing assessments
- Monitor patient conditions and report significant changes
- Assist with medication administration and treatments as permitted by scope of practice
- Manage assigned supplies, equipment, and patient care resources
- Promote teamwork within the healthcare unit and organization
- Maintain facility care standards and safety practices
- Provide care and support to patients and families
- Assist with front desk or clerical tasks as needed
Qualifications
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the State of Georgia
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Basic knowledge of nursing principles
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills
- Nursing home or extended care experience preferred
