WCRMC Interim CEO Robert Trimm Resigns
Washington County Regional Medical Center (WCRMC) announces the resignation of Interim Chief Executive Officer Robert Trimm, effective July 21.
“The Hospital Authority and staff thank Mr. Trimm for his help in guiding us through a demanding situation and wish him well in his new job,” said Jim Croome, Hospital Authority Board Chairman.
Trimm, who served as Interim CEO at WCRMC for 13 months, will now take on a permanent position at a rural facility in Hamilton, Alabama. The move allows him to be closer to home and elderly family members.
“Much progress has been accomplished through his leadership and the Authority expects to build upon it. The Authority is continuing to look at all options that will strengthen our hospital and put it back into sound financial health. Augusta University will continue to be our partner, clinical partner and advisor in other matters,” added Croome.
The Hospital Authority of Washington County also announced that Antoine Poythress will assume the role of Interim Chief Executive Officer. Poythress, who was named Chief Financial Officer in 2016, will assume Interim CEO responsibilities for the day-to-day operations of WCRMC.
“Antoine has proven to be a valuable member of the executive leadership team and a valuable resource to the Hospital Authority during his tenure," said Croome.
As Interim CEO, Poythress will focus on achieving WCRMC’s strategic goals and objectives. He will provide guidance and support to the Hospital Authority as they explore options aimed at strengthening WCRMC and restoring its financial health.
Poythress holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Kentucky Wesleyan College, is a Certified Public Accountant, and has over 20 years of executive healthcare leadership experience. He and his wife, Julia, currently reside in Sandersville.
